David will teach his art of bringing together light & lines, deep compositional learning, intense image making, fascinating critique concepts, and a business building shoot till you drop workshop!

Here is the schedule of events: THURSDAY MORNING We will meet at The Freedom House at 8:00 am. David will speak for about two hours, and then you will head off for the day.
8am- 10am - Intro to my style, concepts and compositions. Quick Q&A time that relates to the intro talk.
11:00am - 2:00pm
Shoot at first location.
Lunch
3:00pm – 6:00pm or 7:00pm
Shoot at second location
We will have a pizza party to follow at The Freedom House, for those who want to come. It is a chance to edit imagery from the day, informal Q&A for David, and just hang out.
What you need to bring: LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF MEMORY!!! MEMORY!!! Comfortable walking shoes Water Snack bars if you get hungry 2 cameras if they have them. 2 or 3 favorite lenses, and especially a wide angle lense! One flash if you like. (We don't spend time with flashes even at night. I use mostly video light and not in the day at all) Plenty of CF cards and reader for laptop. Laptop (if they don't have one they will have to buddy up with someone) DVD to burn best images on- I will also bring some external hard drives for this Something easy and portable to carry these cameras in to shoot outside
Imagery workflow:
I need your best 30 images from the first days shoot. Renumber 1 to 30, and name images with your first and last name. Put them in a file named with your first and last name. All files should be converted out of Raw to jepg. All files need to be high-rez!!!!!! This is important!!

Here is a list of some of the hotels is the Santa Barbara area. Downtown SB is about 5-10 miles from the freedom house where we’ll be basing the workshop. We have some great locations planned; an old Castle and Sunstone Winery. When we get closer to the date I’ll put you in touch with other out of town guests and you can maybe share a rental car. I’ll email out everyone’s cell #’s and email.
If none of these hotels work for you, just google SB hotels. Anything in the surrounding area is good like Goleta. The distances aren’t that great.
