Cyndy and Paul Meyer hosted a fantastic workshop in 08 and I really wanted to go back! One of the coolest things Cyndy and Paul did for me was to put my name up in lights!! Literally! They donated some money to a historical theater and the theater put my name up on the marquee. Wow!! What can I say!!!! You guys are great! So they invited me...well I invited myself ;-) to do another SWB...a different one and one day longer. last year was 2 days this year is 3. I am totally excited and thanks you guys for letting us invade your home again!

Image to Attitude: Day one of the SWB workshop
Photographers are going to have to work harder in 2009 to succeed! I would like to help you demystify the art of being different, setting yourself apart and creating a demand.
Through the balance of creativity in art and business we will conceptualize strategies to ‘win’ in a tough economy.
We start with creating a better image and stronger style which equates to a more powerful brand. We end with a constructive attitude that will open new doors and create opportunities: living where you want, shooting in a style that you love and attracting brides who respect that kind of freedom.

Day 2: Shoot day. Composition day.
The concept for this day is for students to learn from "One of the 10 best wedding photographers in the world" American Photo Mag.
You will come home with amazing imagery for your portfolio! I will teach you how to best utilize this imagery.
I know you will appreciate that I organize this shoot and not let it become a free-for-all to get the best image.
I also foster an overall feeling of enjoyment of imagery creation and helping each other get great shots.
I start by setting up a pose by explaining my thought process in finding each location, with regards to composition and light.
This is a learning experience for you and there is no shooting during this time. I take some imagery and show you my favorite image.
You then spread out and look for your own composition within a static pose. As we move the model to the next pose, we shoot in movement to create less static style imagery and practice with abstract motion concepts.
This system is very organized and everyone gets a chance to shoot and create without having to 'push' your way in to do so.
I shoot with one model at a time because I want to stop the process at any given moment and tell everyone what I 'see'. I do this often.
Day 3: A critique that is different! A unique concept for critique that will quell your idea that critiques are not enjoyable. You will learn so much from your own critique and others.
You will give me 30 of your own favorite images without regard to what you 'think' I will like.
I will critique occasionally on overall style content on some photographers. I will selectively critique on individual images to explain compositional concepts.
The workshop compositional theme is rounded out with ideas you can successfully incorporate at your wedding and any other photography that you do.
The critique day is gotten rave reviews from students!
